BSX rises on heavy trading

Over $1 million of shares traded last week and The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange index rose by nearly half a percent in a busy week of trading.
The bulk of the trading was in Bank of Butterfield stock, which rose 75 cents to finish at $38.75. Bermuda Commercial Bank lost 5 cents to close at $6.65. Argus Insurance and Bermuda Press (Holdings) lost $1 each to close at $25 and $12 respectively. Belco gained 15 cents to finish at $34.75 and KeyTech closed up 25 cents to finish at $10.25.
The index rose 12.7 points or 0.45 percent to close at 2,800.85 on a volume of 45,246 shares worth $1,097,788.70. No bonds traded.
