Falls in bank stock prices pushed The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange index down by nearly 34 points.

Bank of Bermuda stocks dipped $1 to finish at $38.00 while Bank of Butterfield fell 25 cents to close at $35.50.

Bermuda Bakery gained $5 to close at $30, while Argus rose 20 cents to $19.95.

The index was down 1.28 percent or 33.977 points at 2,652.34 on a volume of 22,142 shares worth $636,898.20.
