BSX rises for second day

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index rose for a second day, rising 8.08 points yesterday to close at 4,883.21.
On a day of light trading, BF&M gained $1.25 or 7.7 to close at $17.50 as investors traded in 5,000 shares.
Butterfield Bank also rose 25 cents to close at $56.50 on volume of 11,999 shares and Belco fell $1 to close at $23 on volume of 550 shares.
Meanwhile Bermuda Commercial Bank fell 45 cents to close at $7.55 as investors traded in 7,500 shares.
The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX yesterday was $834,826.85 and the overall volume of shares was 25,049.
