Man in court charged with murder of Quan-Marley Lowe

A man was yesterday charged with the murder of 33-year-old Quan-Marley Lowe.

Khalif Williams, 24, appeared in Magistrates’ Court accused of being involved in an attack on Mr Lowe, a father of two.

The incident is alleged to have happened on June 21 at the junction of Cricket Lane and Scotts Hill Road in Sandys.

Mr Williams did not enter a plea as the matter must be heard in the Supreme Court.

The court heard that an investigation into the murder of Mr Lowe was ongoing and that as many as eight people could have been involved.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe released Mr Williams on $25,000 bail and ordered him to wear an electronic tag, to adhere to an 8pm to 6am curfew and to stay away from witnesses.

He also ordered Mr Williams to report to Hamilton Police Station three times a week and to not move out of his Sandys home.

The case was adjourned until the next Supreme Court arraignment session on August 2.
