The ferry service has returned to its regular schedule, the Government announced this morning.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Transport said that there will be an update later today about when the bus service will resume.

She added: “Minibuses continue to service the core routes bus routes 1, 3, 7, 8, 10 and 11 on the hour from 7am to 7pm.

“All minibuses will operate according to the Ministry of Health’s Guidance for Public Transportation.”

It is the 13th day that bus drivers have been off the job.

Chris Furbert, the Bermuda Industrial Union president, insisted this week that they had no alternative but to down tools over fears about potential Covid-19 exposure in the workplace.

He said that ferry pilots from the Marine and Ports division of the union had also stayed off work in support of bus drivers.

The transport ministry spokeswoman added: “The ministry appreciates the public’s patience and apologises for the inconvenience.

“We will provide an update later today.

“The ministry is reminding the public that each of us has a role to play in stopping the spread of the coronavirus.

“Please follow public health guidelines, wear a mask, practise good hand hygiene, maintain physical distance and download the WeHealth Bermuda App.”
