Police appeal for crash witnesses

A man seriously hurt in a crash ten days ago remains in critical condition in intensive care at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, police said tonight.

The 46-year-old, believed to be a Hamilton Parish resident, is being treated after two motorcycles were involved in a collision on South Road in Warwick at about 7.50pm on September 19.

The matter remains under investigation.

A police spokesman said there was no further detail on the second rider, a 21-year-old Pembroke man, who was also treated in hospital for a broken arm.

But his injuries are not believed to be as serious.

Witnesses who have not yet come forward – or members of the public with any relevant information – are asked to call 211 or the main police telephone number, 295-0011, as soon as possible.

In a separate incident, a 21-year-old female rider hurt in a three-vehicle collision at 5.30pm last Friday continues to recover in hospital.

The Sandys resident broken her arm in the crash at the junction of Somerset Road and Scaur Lane in Sandys.

Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The other rider, a 60-year-old man from Southampton, was treated at the hospital for an ankle injury and discharged.

The 56-year-old driver of the third vehicle, a truck, said to be a man from Sandys, was not injured.

Anyone able to assist was asked to contact Pc Llewellyn Simons on 211 or e-mail lsimons@bps.bm.
