Bermuda Class E company Oceanview Reinsurance Ltd announced that Ahwaz Chagani has been appointed vice-president and chief actuary effective from today.

Mr Chagani is based in Bermuda and will lead Oceanview Re’s actuarial organisation and aspects of its risk-management function.

He brings more than 15 years of experience to Oceanview Re, having most recently served as the head of actuarial and risk and approved actuary for the Argus Group, where he was instrumental in the design and rollout of the group's new risk-management framework.

Before joining the Argus Group, Mr Chagani was head of corporate actuarial and approved actuary for AIA Reinsurance Ltd.

Before that, he was a consulting actuary with Dion Strategic Consulting Group and held various actuarial roles at Manulife Financial.
