Bermuda striker Kyle Lightbourne hit a superb hat-trick as English Third Division club Macclesfield continued their impressive pre-season form with a 6-0 win over Unibond League Division One side Kidsgrove Athletic.

The transfer-listed striker will have received a huge boost from his tally after suffering an ignominious start to his career with the Silkmen last term.

Paul Aldridge, Lee Hardy and an own goal completed the rout.

Lightbourne, however, missed the 2-1 defeat to Port Vale with a stomach bug and was a doubt for last night's clash with Crewe.
