Fidelis appoints Russell as head of marine

Bermuda-based Fidelis Insurance Holdings Limited has appointed Paul Russell as the group’s new head of Marine.

The company said Mr Russell’s appointment is part of Fidelis’ overall marine expansion both internally and with its Marine MGA, Navium that commenced underwriting under Clive Washbourn in May and has established a substantial material market footprint.

It added that the combined marine offering places Fidelis among the largest in the London market, promising brokers and clients substantial capacity, innovative products and around the clock service – making full use of the company’s new “Forum” trading floor on Lime Street to maximise face-to-face accessibility to brokers.

Richard Coulson, chief executive officer of Insurance and chief underwriting officer of Fidelis Underwriting Limited, said: “We are looking forward to Paul joining our team as he brings with him a wealth of experience and client relationships that will further enhance Fidelis’ offering and uncompromising service and commitment to delivering the best insurance solutions for our brokers and clients.”

Through its subsidiaries, Fidelis is a global provider of property, bespoke and specialty insurance and reinsurance products.
