Bermuda have been drawn alongside Canada, Jamaica, and hosts Dominican Republic in Group F of the Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Championships.

The draw for the tournament, which is scheduled to take place from April 23 to May 8, was conducted in Miami, Florida, yesterday.

The first round of qualifying for the championships, which took place at the end of October at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, resulted in the three group winners, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Curaçao and Honduras, as well as the best ranked second-place finisher based on a weighted points system, Guyana, advancing directly to the knockout stages.

Yesterday’s draw added the remaining top ranked 16 teams, which have been split across four groups, with the top three teams in each progressing through to the knockout stages.

The knockout stage of the competition, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, third place match and final, will all be played in a single match, direct elimination format.

At the conclusion of the event, the champion, runner-up and third-place finisher will qualify for the 2022 Fifa Under-17 Women’s World Cup in India in October next year.
