Police investigation after shots fired in residential area

Police have launched an investigation after a shooting incident Friday night.

A spokesman said a quantity of live ammunition and a used cartridge were found at the scene.

The news came after gunshots were heard on Deepdale Road in Pembroke at around 11.30pm.

Police officers and forensics experts sealed off and examined the scene after local residents reported the incident.

The spokesman said: “There were no reports of injuries and checks with King Edward VII Memorial Hospital confirmed no one arrived at the facility seeking treatment for gunshot wounds.”

He added anyone with information that could help the inquiry should phone 211 or the main police number on 295 0011.
