Minister: get your booster shot and stay safe over Christmas
The Minister of Health has urged members of the community to get their Covid-19 booster jab as soon as possible in order to stay safe over the Christmas period.
Kim Wilson said: “If you want to stay safe over the Christmas holidays, now is the time to get vaccinated or get your booster if eligible.
“I also want to remind everyone that the coronavirus thrives on human contact, and as we head into the holiday season, we must continue to follow public health guidance.”
The Ministry of Health is also holding its Flu Express on Saturday, December 18, from 9am to 2pm at the National Stadium Pavilion.
The Flu Express is $15 per shot for adults and children while those over 65 will receive the seasonal flu vaccine free of charge.
Ms Wilson said: “The flu vaccine is a safe and highly effective method of preventing most cases of flu. Side effects are rare and usually mild.”
People can register online by visiting https://www.gov.bm/. Click on the yellow tab ‘Flu Vaccine Registration’ on the top right-hand corner of the page, follow the consent prompt and enter the required information.
The direct link is https://forms.gov.bm/Influenza-Vaccine-Consent. An e-mail will be sent and is required to be shown when you arrive for vaccination.
Individuals can also call the hotline at 799-1524 or 332-8902 to preregister. Those who cannot preregister online or by phone can fill out the consent at the vaccination express location.”
A false e-mail message regarding Covid-19 Vaccine appointments is in circulation.
A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health said: “Please ignore and delete if you have received correspondence entitled New Vaccine Appointment signed by "The Covid-19 Vaccine team," as shown in the image above.
“Any e-mail with the simple title “New Vaccine Appointment” may be part of a phishing scam. Official vaccine appointments are sent from the Bermuda Government, via the email address BermudaCovidVaccine@resqwest.com.

Vaccine booster appointments are available for all residents who have had their second Covid-19 vaccine dose at least six months ago.
Those eligible for the booster vaccine can book an appointment on www.gov.bm by selecting “Book a Booster Vaccine Appointment.” They may also call the Vaccination Hotline at 444-2498 (option #2) or e-mail vaccine@gov.bm.
Those aged 65 and older can walk into Pier 6 for a booster, and throughout November and December, King Edward VII Memorial Hospital booster clinics will be held on Wednesday from 8am to 8pm, and Sunday from 8am to 8pm. The last clinic is on December 23.
Covid-19 vaccinations are available at the Hamilton Health Centre, 67 Victoria Street, Pembroke every Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm. These vaccinations are by appointment only, no walk-ins.
Individuals can get their first, second or third dose and may call 332-8906 for assistance in scheduling an appointment, or book online at www.gov.bm/vaccines.
Additionally, first and second dose appointments can be made at the KEMH Vaccination Clinic on Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm to 7pm, and Saturday from 8am to 4pm. Walk-ins are accepted.
People can book online at www.gov.bm/vaccines or call the Vaccination Hotline at 444-2498 (option #2) for assistance. The last clinic is on December 22.
