Man arrested in connection with Bascome murder released on bail

Murder victim: Osagi Bascome was stabbed to death on Saturday (File photograph)

A man arrested in connection with the weekend murder of footballer Osagi Bascome has been released on bail, police said today.

The detective leading the investigation into the knife killing said that inquiries were being hampered by a failure by witnesses to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Peter Stableford said: “People who were with Osagi still have not come forward to assist with this investigation.

“This makes it harder to establish what happened.

“The investigative team remains committed to bringing those responsible to justice and continue our appeal to whomever was there, to say something.”

Mr Bascome was stabbed at a party at Fun Zone in St David’s on Saturday night.

Anyone with any footage of the party or the incident should download it to the police here.

Witnesses can also call 211, the confidential Crime Stoppers number on 800 8477, or DCI Stableford at 717 2286.
