BFA issues revised schedule as matches start to pile up

First Prev 1 2 Next Last

The Bermuda Football Association has issued a revised scheduled for the second half of the football season following a number of postponements and rescheduled matches due to the pandemic.

Since January 1 there have been at least 17 matches moved to new dates, including last weekend’s five Premier Division matches that were called off due to the Osagi Bascome funeral on Sunday, as well as postponements because of positive Covid-19 cases within three teams.

One match, North Village versus Southampton Rangers, was rescheduled for last night while the others will be played on January 26 (Devonshire Colts v PHC), February 16 (Devonshire Cougars v X-Roads) and February 23 (Somerset Eagles v Robin Hood and St George’s v Somerset).

This weekend should have seen the first round of the FA Cup, but those matches have been moved to the weekend of February 11-13. The quarter-final matches in that competition have been switched to March 11 and 13.

Instead of the FA Cup, this weekend will see a rescheduled Premier Division match from New Year’s Day between PHC and Devonshire Cougars at PHC Field on Saturday at 3pm.

Three Premier Division and two First Division matches from earlier this month will now take place this Sunday, Somerset Eagles v Robin Hood, St George’s v Somerset and Devonshire Colts v North Village. The two rescheduled First Division matches will be between Paget and Vasco and Wolves and BAA from January 1 and 16.

Two Premier Division matches will also be played next Wednesday at Somerset and Goose Gosling Field when Somerset Eagles play Devonshire Cougars at 8pm and Devonshire Colts take on PHC at Goose Gosling Field starting at 9pm.
