Ann Spencer-Arscott and Katie Bennett have been appointed co-presidents of the Bermuda chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

An AFP Bermuda spokesperson said: “We are delighted to announce these appointments as we continue to navigate our shifting economic and pandemic environment.

“In the past three years, we have seen significant changes in our third sector landscape developing an increased focus on our people accessing basic services like food, shelter, and healthcare.

“We have witnessed a proliferation of Go-Fund-Me campaigns on and off island to access emergency funding for health care services and other urgent causes. We have all been asked to do much more with less while having our service delivery systems challenged at many levels.

“We know Bermuda as a generous community and we look forward to continuing our commitment of assisting our members in developing the ethical skills of raising significant funds to generate the greatest impact. “

Ms Bennett is the advancement officer at the National Museum of Bermuda. She holds a BA in archaeology from Hamilton College, New York, and an MA in museum anthropology from Columbia University, New York.

Previous museum experience includes communications and development roles at the Museum of the City of New York and The Tenement Museum.

Ms Spencer-Arscott is the executive director of Bermuda’s Red Cross. She is a founding member of AFP Bermuda, a member of the Inter Agency for Children, Families and the Community - Non-profit Alliance of Bermuda committee, a graduate of Ignite Bermuda and an active volunteer at Christ Church Warwick.
