Engineering Minister the Hon. Leonard Gibbons revealed in the House of Assembly on Friday.

He made the announcement in response to a question by PLP MP Ms Jennifer Smith who wanted to know if Government could assure the safety of the structure which links St. George's and the Civil Air Terminal to the rest of the Island.

POLICE INVESTIGATE TEEN STABBING CRM Police investigate teen stabbing Police are investigating a report that a St. George's youth was robbed and stabbed by a 14-year-old over the weekend.

The victim, a 15-year-old, said his attacker made accusations against him, then drew a knife and slashed him across his arm and robbed him.

He was taken to hospital, treated and released.

The incident occurred last Friday afternoon on the North Shore in Pembroke.

MARRIOTT'S PLAN MEETS APPROVAL PLN Marriott's plan meets approval A multi-million dollar plan to make a Bermuda resort one of the "most envied in the world'' appears to have met with overwhelming approval.

Earlier this month, the Marriott's Castle Harbour Resort announced a $65 million rescue plan, completely revamping the business.

Only one objection to the plan has been received by the Planning Department and that came four days after the deadline.

The objector, who has not been named, says the planned new luxury homes will spoil the natural environment and are outside the area zoned for development.

The plan will now go before the Development Applications Board.

MAN STABBED OVER CIGARETTE CRM Man stabbed over cigarette A 19-year-old Warwick man told Police he was stabbed for not having a cigarette.

The man said he was sitting on a wall at Parson's Road in Pembroke when a man approached him and asked for a cigarette.

When he said he had none the man persisted, then left and returned with a knife.

When the complainant was still unable to give him a cigarette, the attacker tried to stab him in the chest.

The victim said he blocked the blow with arm and was stabbed in the hand.

His attacker ran off and the victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and treated.

TEENS ARRESTED AFTER CHASE CRM Teens arrested after chase Police arrested two teens who led them on a high-speed chase.

During the hours of Saturday morning Police were trying to stop an 18-year-old Southampton man on King Street when he continued onto Cavendish Road, then onto Lane Hill, on the wrong side of the road.

The chase ended at the bottom of Lane Hill where Police arrested the rider and his 16-year-old passenger from Warwick.

Police also discovered the cycle and its engine were stolen.

MEN RIDE UP, STEAL BAF FROM COUPLE CRM Men ride up, steal bag from couple A handbag snatching in Paget was one of 13 reports of stealing Police received over the weekend.

A 29-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, both of Warwick, told Police they were riding a motorcycle along Cobb's Hill Road, in Paget, last Saturday afternoon when two young men rode up beside them.

They snatched the woman's handbag from her basket and rode off.
