SiriusPoint Ltd, the global specialty re/insurer headquartered in Bermuda, has made key appointments to its information technology team, building out a diverse set of expertise to transform the way the company operates and supports its business functions.

The company said the new team will integrate its platforms, creating improved IT functionality to enable the operational efficiency of the business.

They will also help SiriusPoint’s strategic goal of being a technology-enabled insurer, including cloud transformation, establishing a robust data and analytics platform, and adopting modern technology architecture and practice, the company said.

“Developing an industry-leading technology approach has been a priority for the business since SiriusPoint launched nearly a year ago,” said Darryl Siry, chief technology officer.

“I am delighted to have attracted an enormously talented and diverse team, each member of which brings unique insight and experience to deliver our technology strategy.

“SiriusPoint’s platforms and operational capabilities are core to our ability to be nimble and data-driven, enhancing functions across the business from underwriting and risk management to finance and operations.”

Prashanth Gangu, COO and president of insurance and services, said: “Successful transformation in the insurance industry requires a clear vision and the talent to deliver results.

“Over the past year, Darryl has built a highly talented technology team. I couldn’t be happier with the skills and diverse approaches we have to deliver on our ambitions within our insurance business and the disruptive MGAs and insurtechs SiriusPoint partners with.”
