Marine traffic reminder for Mangrove Bay event

People are being reminded that the coastal area of Mangrove Bay, Somerset, to the easternmost island at the tip of King’s Point, will be closed to regular marine traffic tomorrow between noon and 6pm for a traditional raft-up.

A Government spokesman said: “In the interest of safety, personal watercraft are prohibited from operating in the area of Mangrove Bay, southwest of a line between the southern end of Watford Bridge and the easternmost island at the tip of King’s Point.

“All boat operators must adhere to the five-knot no-wake restriction.

“The Bermuda Police Service marine unit will patrol the area along with the coastguard and focus on offences including antisocial behaviour and operating a vehicle whilst impaired.”
