Madelyn Moore misses out on qualification in 100 metres freestyle

Madelyn Moore

Bermuda swimmer Madelyn Moore returned to action at the Commonwealth Games but fell short of extending her semi-final qualification streak this morning.

Having reached the semi-finals of the 50 metres freestyle and 50 butterfly in as many days, Moore was aiming to again seal qualification, competing in the 100 free at the Sandwell Aquatic Centre.

However, it was not to be as the 22-year-old finished in seventh place in heat seven, touching the wall in 56.98sec. Her time saw her finish nineteenth overall in the event.

Moore returns to the pool tomorrow to compete in the 50 backstroke alongside Emma Harvey, while Jack Harvey will be in action in the 200 back.
