CableVision replaces CNBC with Bloomberg

Bermuda CableVision has confirmed that the Bloomberg business channel has replaced CNBC, which has been discontinued because of the expiration of a satellite agreement covering Bermuda and the Caribbean.

At the same time the company has added a new cable network to its roster aimed specifically at women, which is called Lifetime Real Women and provides "reality-based programming for and about women."

Comenting on the business channel switch, Terry Roberson, general manager, said: "Most of the Caribbean - which also experienced the loss of CNBC as a result of CNBC having cancelled their agreement with the programming provider due to an expiring satellite agreement with our territory - replaced the CNBC channel with Bloomberg, another business and financial channel, which is already offered on CableVision digital channel 24.

"There is no other financial news channel available that CableVision does not already provide as part of its digital line-up."

The CableVision boss revealed this week that the 24-hour, seven days a week Lifetime Real Women, which has been running since 2001, is now on the Bermuda cable network.

Mr. Roberson described it as "true-to-life programming told from a woman's point of view".

It features exclusive original series and films based on true stories, all covering themes that appeal to women, such as career advancement, home decorating and relationships.

"Lifetime Real Women has received critical acclaim for it groundbreaking original dramas and compelling reality-based series," said Rollin Nathan, Bermuda CableVision sales manager.

"It is a network that has consistently ranked high in popularity ratings and viewer loyalty, and is in more than four million homes in the US. We're pleased to introduce it to our customers as part of our digital line-up on channel 152."
