Five charities get $1,000 from St. George's Rotary

Five charities have been given a $1,000 boost each as St. George's Rotary Club wrapped up its donations for the financial year.
Rotary president Mariea Caisey presented the cheques to the local branch of the Salvation Army, Outward Bound, the St. George's Foundation, Meals on Wheels and PALS.
The money was raised through a golf tournament, month raffles and donations from visiting Rotarians.
On July 7 the Rotary Club will begin its next fiscal year of money raising with a Fish Fry to be held at the St. George's Dinghy and Sports Club, which will also include an auction. The event starts at 6 p.m. and tickets are available by calling 337-5619.
