Police are investigating claims of a weapon at the cruise ship terminal in St. George’s this afternoon.

Efforts to find the alleged weapon at Penno’s Wharf, and an individual believed to be off a cruise ship are ongoing.

One person off the cruise ship is said to be assisting Police with their inquiries.

The search caused a delay for some passengers waiting to be taken back to the ship by tender.

Police have yet to specify what type of weapon was involved.

Officers received information "of the presence of a possible weapon", around 2.05 p.m.

Said a spokesperson: “Police inquires are ongoing and further information will be released as the investigation progresses.”
