Bermuda winger Tyrell Burgess created one of Vancouver Whitecaps FC's goals during their 4-0 pre-season victory over Seattle University Redhawks in Tsawwassen, British Columbia.

Substitute Burgess crafted the game's final goal with good work down the right wing to allow Charles Gbeke to bag his brace.

Whitecaps' other scorers were Marlon James and trialist Tyler Rosenlund.

The USL-D1 defending champions' first league game of the season is against Charles Battery at Swangard Stadium on Saturday, April 11.

Evans third in

800m event

Bermuda's budding track star Aaron Evans finished third in the 800 metres for the University of Memphis at the LSU Relays in Louisiana at the weekend.

Freshman Evans, who has been named in Bermuda's squad for the Carifta Games in St. Lucia later this month, posted a time of 1:54.29 in his first outdoor race of the season.

Evans is pushing to reach the NCAA Division One in the outdoor 800 metres after narrowly missing out in the indoor event.
