Plea for help in catching thugs

Police are appealing for witnesses after thugs set upon two men on Cooper's Island Road in St. George's over the weekend, robbing and assaulting them.

Around midnight on Sunday officers spoke with the victims, a 33-year-old and a 30-year-old, both from St. George's, who told them after socialising at a nearby business, they decided to walk home.

While walking along Cooper's Island Road, five unknown men approached, attacked and held them up, taking a black wallet with cash and personal items, as well as a Nokia cell phone from the 30-year-old victim.

Nothing was taken from the 33-year-old target and the muggers managed to escape.

The complainants suffered facial injuries but declined medical attention.

Police are asking any witnesses to this incident or anyone with information to contact the Southside Police Station at 293-2222.
