Almost 60 percent of respondents to a poll believe that conscription for the Bermuda Regiment should continue.

Of the 726 votes cast in a online poll that ended yesterday, 59.9 percent said ?yes? to the question ?Should Bermuda Regiment conscription continue?? while 35.4 percent said ?no? and 4.7 percent said they did not know.

The unscientific poll on www.theroyalgazette.com started last Friday and on Thursday.

As of Friday, 211 people had taken part in the poll, with 50.2 percent saying yes, 47.9 percent saying no and 1.9 percent undecided.

A dolphin trainer at Dolphin Quest was rushed to hospital with severe chest and back pains after the dolphin crashed into her.

Bermuda Fire Service spokesman Lt. Dana Lovell said the incident happened at 2.50 p.m. on Friday and the woman was treated at the scene.

?The dolphin hit her in the back and on the side,? said Lt. Lovell.

?But she was having trouble breathing and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further treatment.?
