Last week The Royal Gazette visited Elliot Gallery to check out Bermudian artist Heather Macdonald's art opening on May 23.

By the end of the evening half of the 32 oils, ranging in size from five inches by seven inches to about five feet by five feet, had been sold.

The scene: The evening was a mix of old and young friends of the artist and interested buyers. Keeping with the Bermudian theme Rum Swizzle was free flowing while wine was also available.

Waiters circled the gallery as relaxed patrons admired the art on show and caught up with old friends.
