Open auditions for JaKoMa on Sunday
JaKoMa Group will launch its first set of auditions for its new modelling agency, JaKoMa Nex on Sunday. The first audition is specifically for children aged 5 to 14 and will take place between 2 and 4 p.m. They should be dressed in a white top with plain denim bottoms. An open call for anyone who is interested in modelling will be held from 4 to 5 p.m.
According to public relations manager Cha'Von Clarke, the agency, "is a talent scout and contracting agency that will manage negotiations between the talent and the contractor". There will be strict guidelines and regualtions that models are expected to abide by. The agency will also have ties with international agencies, giving models the opportunity to get more exposure. In addition to modelling, there is a department that focuses on creating entire photo-shoot packages for businesses. This gives them the opportunity to "think outside the box", according to Ms Clarke and choose alternative studio shoots for advertisements. Ms Clarke explained that every month, there will be auditions for a specific group.
"This month we will have children, next month maybe teenagers and the next month maybe older people. But there will be open calls every month for anybody who wants to walk in and be a model." In addition to NeX Agency, in September, the group will launch the NeX Modelling School specifically for girls ages 13 and up.
Auditions and open calls will take place the last Sunday of every month at the JaKoMa Suite on the corner of Cedar Avenue and Victoria Street.
