Michael Sims looked to have put his early-season demons well and truly behind him on the Nationwide Tour yesterday as the Bermuda number one found himself tied for fifth overnight at the $600,000 Peek n’ Peek Classic in New York.
The 28-year-old carded a fantastic four-under par 68 at the Peek n’ Peak Country Club Resort in Findley Lake to finish the day six-under for the tournament after his first round 70.
Despite his impressive form, the former Bermuda Open champion is some six shots off the lead, which is still being held by former PGA Tour pro Paul Claxton, who has now recorded two consecutive rounds of 66 to boast a tournament score of 12-under.
