Hard on the heels of his best-ever finish at the Knoxville Open last week, Michael Sims produced another excellent two-under par 70 to finish yesterday in a tie for 24th at the $600,000 Peek n’ Peak Classic in New York.
Displaying the kind of consistency which has been missing from his game for large parts of his first year on the Nationwide Tour, Sims carded three birdies and only one bogey on the 7,150-yard Peek n’ Peak Country Club course in Findley Lake. The Bermuda number one is four shots off the lead going into today’s second round — a lead held by American Paul Claxton who is on six-under, one shot clear of a chasing pack of three on five-under.
