$1.6m of shares traded

The Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained slightly as more than $1.6 million worth of shares changed hands.

Only two companies — Butterfield Bank and Argus Group Holdings — saw their shares gain in value, while four declined.

Butterfield Bank gained 50 cents (0.83 percent) to close the week at a 52-week high of $60.50, as 23,688 shares traded. Argus put on 25 cents (1.67 percent) to end the week at $15.25, on the sale of 3,000 of the insurer's shares.

The biggest decline was suffered by Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd., which dipped $1 (8.7 percent) to $10.50, as 7,488 shares sold.

Belco Holdings Ltd. also lost ground, falling 80 cents (3.56 percent) to $21.70, as 2.050 shares changed hands.

Despite announcing record full-year profits this week, Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. saw its share price fall by five cents (0.79 percent) to close on $6.25. A total of 3,280 of the company's shares sold.

The Index ended the week at 5,150.22, up 12.45 points (0.24 percent) over the five days.

Meanwhile, the BSX Insurance Index fell 1.31 points (0.1 percent) to end the week on 1,332.04.
