Belco jumps 1.3%

Belco Holdings Ltd. was the only company to gain ground on a quiet day's trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange yesterday.

Belco climbed 25 cents (1.3 percent) to end the day on $20.25, though the energy provider was still near the lower end of its 52-week range of $19.38 to $34. A total of 585 Belco shares were traded yesterday.

Butterfield Bank was the only other issue to trade and remained unchanged on $61 after 2,459 of its shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index climbed 4.6 points (0.09 percent) to 5,152.49. Meanwhile the BSX Insurance Index enjoyed a positive day, climbing almost one percent (12.93 points) to close on 1,330.9.
