Jackson stars for Rangers

Curtis Jackson came within two runs of a century to lead Southampton Rangers to a three-wicket victory over Cleveland in Premier Division play at Wellington Oval yesterday.
The defending champions made a positive response after their opponents had posted a respectable total with opener Jackson leading the fight-back with his highest score of the season — his stroke-filled innings including two sixes and 11 fours. Victory was reached off 47.3 overs.
Also among the runs for Rangers were Kwame Tucker with 31, player-coach Janeiro Tucker with 24, Jason Wade with 21 not out and skipper Dwayne Leverock with 20 not out.
Barry Gibbons was the best bowler for Cleveland with two for 27 off 10 overs while Shaki Darrell claimed two for 51 off 10 overs.
Earlier Cleveland were ensured a decent total with opener Stephen Douglas stroking 55 and Jason Simons contributing 38. Suray Metha chipped in with 28 while Patrick Stamp added 27.
Leverock led Rangers’ bowlers with three for 11 from 10 overs with five of them being maidens while Jason Wade finished with three for 46 off 10 overs and a maiden.

Justin Robinson was the top bowler for Stars with three for 32 off 10 overs while Raymond Butterfield had three for 47.
Machai Campbell was high man for Stars with 23, Wayne Campbell followed on 22 with Justin Robinson a run behind on 21.
Wendell White was the pick of the home team bowling with three for 45 off 10 overs, Jermaine Warner had two for 23 off seven overs and Durham two for 24 off 10 overs with a maiden and Marcus Johnson two for 26 off 10 overs.
