The Corporation of Hamilton announced yesterday that it will cancel parking tickets issued to seniors that attended Monday’s launch of ‘Senior’s Week’, held at the City Hall Theatre.

Tickets must be brought in to Project coordinator Carol Wills at the City Hall for the one-off dismisal.

Corporation of Hamilton Mayor Sutherland Madeiros said: “While we don’t encourage people to park illegally, we recognise that some seniors have difficulty in walking far.

“And so, for the duration of Monday’s seniors’ event at City Hall, we have decided to exonerate seniors who may have received a parking ticket during that period.”
