Finally!: Collie Buddz to the top
Local reggae artist Collie Buddz has broken new ground — his album is now in the number one spot on the Billboard Reggae chart.
And the New Orleans-born, Bermudian-raised artist will return to the Island to perform at Snorkel Park on July 28.
The album, entitled ‘Collie Buddz’, debuted last week Tuesday with local music stores selling out of copies faster that they could stock them. The album surpassed ‘Reggae Gold 2007: Treasure of the Caribbean’, ‘Bob Marley: Forever Bob Marley’, ‘Stephen Marley: Mind Control’ and ‘Damien Marley: Welcome To Jamrock’ to take over the top of the chart.
It was released by Columbia Records and is currently number 15 on the R&B and Hip-Hop albums chart and number seven on the Rap albums chart. Collie also boasts a number nine ranking on SoundScan’s Current Rap albums chart and number 23 on the R&B chart. His album is number 44 on the SoundScan Digital Albums chart and number 68 on the Billboard Top 200 best-selling albums chart.
His singles include the anthem ‘Come Around’, ‘Mamacita’ and newly released ‘Blind To You’.
