Police have initiated a new video identification database, known as PROMAT. This new technology will be able to store the image of people’s faces and will therefore serve as an important tool in the “identification and subsequent prosecution of criminals,” said an official press release. The Bermuda Police Service unveiled the new system to media this week and want to thank all those 230 “diverse” volunteers who agreed to be filmed for the system.
