LONDON (Bloomberg) ? Nordic American Tanker Shipping Ltd., which operates ten tankers to transport oil, bought two second-hand million-barrel crude carriers for $165.1 million, the company said yesterday.

Nordic American expects the acquisitions to boost dividends and earnings per share, the Bermuda-based company said.

Nordic announced last week that its second-quarter profit rose 51 percent on increased demand.

Net income climbed to $14.2 million, or 68 cents a share, in the three months ended June 30, compared with $9.4 million, or 57 cents, a year earlier.
