Wilkinson’s Town future in doubt

Wilkinson, the Hornets coach, was absent when his team beat Onions in the FA Cup final

Jomar Wilkinson’s status as head coach of Dandy Town Hornets remains in doubt.

It is believed that the former Dandy Town player has resigned from his post, but when contacted Willis Dill, the Western Stars Sports Club president, under whose auspices Dandy Town fall, could not confirm whether Wilkinson had quit his position.

“As president I have not been informed,” Dill said.

Wilkinson, who has led Town to multiple league and cup honours, was not on the bench for Town’s FA Cup final against Flanagan’s Onions at the National Stadium, National Sports Centre, this month.

Town defeated Onions 3-1 to claim a fifth FA Cup title and third in four seasons, with Dennis Zuill, the team’s caretaker coach, at the helm in Wilkinson’s absence.

Hornets finished second in the Premier Division, three points behind Somerset Trojans, who clinched their first title in 22 years.
