Road safety awareness events aimed at young drivers
Young riders and drivers will be the focus of this year’s Road Safety Week.
The week opens with an event at City Hall in Hamilton on Monday from noon to 2pm.
This year’s theme is “Youth Road Safety”, highlighting the importance of protecting and educating new road users.
Altonio Roberts, the chairman of the Bermuda Road Safety Council, said: “This special event is being led and organised by the Junior Road Safety Council, a passionate group of young advocates dedicated to promoting road safety among their peers and the wider community.”
• Your choices, your safety: Every decision on the road matters
• Ride smart, drive smart: Young drivers and riders must develop responsible habits early
• Stop, look and listen: Teaching young pedestrians the importance of awareness
• One life, one road: Reminding the youth that reckless behaviour can have lifelong consequences

“The open event will feature engaging activities, informative exhibits and keynote addresses from road safety advocates, officials and community stakeholders.
“Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about key road safety measures, interact with experts and participate in discussions aimed at creating a safer Bermuda for young pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.”
The BRSC encourages the community to attend and demonstrate its commitment to “making Bermuda’s roads safer for our youth”.
