Drivers have been urged to use caution on Sunday morning as the Sir Stanley Burgess 5K takes to the streets.

The event is scheduled to take place between 8am and 9.30am, with runners setting out from Cedarbridge Lane, near the Clyde Best Centre of Excellence.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works said: “While there will be no road closures, traffic controls will be in effect and race marshals will be present to assist with directing traffic.

“Motorists are advised to use caution when travelling through the area during the event and to follow any signage or instructions provided by officials.”

The competitors will travel down Frog Lane, Old Military Road, Parson’s Lane, Palmetto Road and Blackwatch Pass before turning around and travelling back to Frog Lane along Palmetto Road.
