Man admits assaulting child and police officer
A man who assaulted a child and a police officer will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court next month.
Rudolph Smith, 73, admitted the offences when he appeared in court yesterday.
The court heard that on March 8, Smith, from St George’s, struck a 12-year-old boy three times and swung at a police officer who investigated the incident.
The child complained of head pain after the assault but showed no visible injuries.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson ordered reports to be written for Smith, adjourned the case to June 19 for sentencing and extended his bail until that time.
