BSX index closes higher

Trading volume today on the Bermuda Stock Exchange was $109,778.00
The RG/BSX Index rose 76.56 points, or 2.84 per cent, to 2,770.87 today, based in part on the trading of 1,200 shares of Butterfield Bank.
The company rose $1.25 (3.1 per cent) to close at $41.50.
In addition, 2,700 shares of BF&M were traded, with the stock rising 50 cents (3 per cent) to close at $17.
There were 512 shares of Watlington Waterworks traded, for a rise of $1.50 or 5.8 per cent to close at $27.50.
On the New York Stock Exchange, Butterfield Bank rose 72 cents or 1.71 per cent to $42.82, with 214,794 shares changing hands.
