Appleby hires three new lawyers

Appleby has hired three additional lawyers in its Bermuda office, including new partner Richard Collis, senior associate George McCallum and associate Rawan Hussein.

The law firm said Mr Collis has a wealth of experience in all aspects of corporate and commercial law, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, reorganisations, investments and disposals, and corporate advisory and governance advice.

Before joining Appleby, he practised at a top-tier law firm in London where he advised a wide range of clients.

Mr Collis said: “After more than a decade practising law in the UK, I’m pleased to return to Bermuda and proud to join Appleby. I’m looking forward to working with such a talented team of professionals and contributing to the firm’s continued success in Bermuda and globally.”

Mr McCallum advises on all aspects of corporate and commercial law, including corporate finance, digital assets, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions. Before joining Appleby, he practised at another offshore law firm in Bermuda, and before that he practised in the international business department at a top-tier law firm in Barbados.

Ms Hussein advises on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance and corporate governance.

Before joining Appleby, she practised at a Canadian law firm, where she advised clients on corporate restructuring, commercial agreements and general corporate governance matters.

She said: “I’m excited to join Appleby’s corporate team in Bermuda and contribute to a firm renowned for its cross-border expertise and collaborative culture. I’m also looking forward to becoming a part of Bermuda’s vibrant professional and local community.”
