The documentary chronicling the life and legacy of Bermuda football icon Clyde Best will premiere in March 2026.
Ahead of the World Cup, the documentary with the catchline “the superstar you’ve never heard of,” will be shown in London in March 2026 and Bermuda a month later and promises a compelling and deeply human portrayal of one of the first Black players to break into the top division of English football during a time of racial adversity.
The red-carpet premieres will feature special guests from the global footballing world, celebrating Clyde’s pioneering journey from the shores of Bermuda to the pitches of the English Premier League.
The official trailer was shot in Bermuda this month in collaboration with Bermudian production company 7 South and the footage captured during the visit should deliver a vivid and emotional first glimpse into Clyde’s incredible story.
According to the film’s producers, the documentary has “already garnered significant interest from international streaming platforms, further solidifying its potential to reach a wide global audience, with the surge of attention presenting a rare opportunity for Bermuda’s culture and legacy to be showcased on the world stage.”
A host of island-based sponsors have stepped up to back the film including the Bermuda Football Association, which introduced the film to Concacaf and Fifa, recognising its cultural and historical significance.
Major sponsors include Butterfield Bank (Silver Sponsor), Terceira’s Service Stations (Bronze Sponsor) and generous grants have also been received from the private sector, including Centennial Fund, Gard Limited, Fortitude Re and Validus.
