Hamilton names CEOs, underwriting chief
Hamilton Insurance Group has made a slate of senior executive changes, including the appointment of Adrian Daws as chief executive of Hamilton Re in Bermuda and Alex Baker as CEO of Hamilton Global Speciality in London.
Both roles are subject to regulatory approvals, and Mr Daws’s appointment also requires immigration clearance.
The company also revealed that Tim Duffin will become group chief underwriting officer, a newly created role, effective January 1, pending regulatory approval. All three executives will report to Pina Albo, group CEO, as part of Hamilton’s executive management team.
The leadership shuffle follows the planned retirement of Megan Graves, who has served as CEO of Hamilton Re since 2020. She will step down at the end of the year.
David A. Brown, the board chairman, praised the appointments, calling the internal promotions “a testament to the strength of Hamilton’s bench”. Ms Albo complimented the trio’s “exceptional commitment, vision and performance”.
Mr Daws, who joined Hamilton in 2015, previously served as CEO of Hamilton Global Speciality and held senior roles within the Lloyd’s market. Mr Baker, with the firm since 2016, was group chief risk officer and formerly chief actuary at Hamilton Global Speciality. Mr Duffin, at present CUO at Hamilton Re, joined the company in 2012.
Hamilton said the moves reflect the company’s continued strategy to strengthen its global speciality and reinsurance platforms, headquartered in Bermuda.
