The winner of a raffle drawn from Belco’s customers who switched to paperless billing was announced today.

Robert Sousa, named winner of the “Switch Save Win” e-billing campaign, won a $500 Belco gift certificate.

The campaign encouraged customers to sign up for electronic bills between the period of April 22 and May 30.

All paperless billing customers at the time of the draw were entered and eligible to win.

The campaign successfully encouraged additional customers to make the switch to paperless billing, Belco said.

Wayne Caines, president of Belco, said: “At Belco we are committed to sustainability and a simple way we can further our goal is to reduce the amount of paper we use.

“Thank you to all our customers who have signed up for e-bills and I encourage those who still receive paper bills to also switch to e-bills.

“By working together, we can reduce our environmental impact and progress our goal of ensuring Belco becomes a more sustainable company.”

The company said approximately 9,500 bills are printed and mailed monthly and customers can help reduce this paper use by switching to e-billing.
