Carrick Holdings makes first full-time Bermuda hire

Carrick Group has hired its first full-time employee in Bermuda — Armin De Weerdt, assistant vice-president, finance.

Devin O’Malley, Carrick chief financial officer, said: “We are strongly committed to Bermuda, and are looking to grow our presence on the island by recruiting further financial and actuarial personnel to support Carrick’s continued growth.”

Mr De Weerdt joined the Bermudian-based international non-life legacy insurer from Pillar Capital Management.

He is responsible for preparing financial forecasts and reports, evaluating financial performance, driving process improvements, and supporting reinsurance and acquisition transactions.

“Carrick offers efficient legacy solutions that are attractive to insurance companies,” he said. “I look forward to supporting the business as it grows.”

Carrick has two Bermuda-based independent non-executive directors.
