BermudAir promotes pilots and Bermudian crew
BermudAir marked a major milestone this week with the promotion of two pilots to captain and two Bermudian crew members to senior positions.
Thays Emilly Silva and Henrique Mattos, both pilots, were elevated to captain through BermudAir’s internal command upgrade programme, the first such promotions in the airline’s history.
Ms Silva, who joined BermudAir in May 2023 as its first pilot hire, is also the first to complete the command upgrade process. Originally from Brazil, she earned her commercial pilot licences in both Brazil and Florida before flying for Azul Linhas Aéreas for six years.
Mr Mattos, also a Brazilian native, joined the airline in July 2023 with nearly three decades of commercial flying experience, most recently at LatAm Airlines Brazil.
“These upgrades are meaningful on many levels,” said Adam Scott, founder and chief executive of BermudAir.
“They reflect the strength of our training programme and the high calibre of professionals within our team.”
BermudAir also promoted Hannah Eggen and Neshae Scott, both Bermudians, to senior cabin crew. Both women joined the airline in 2023 and completed their training in summer 2024.
“Hannah and Neshae have shown exceptional dedication, professionalism and leadership from the very beginning,” Mr Scott said.
“They’ve grown with the airline and now take on well-deserved senior cabin crew roles.”
As senior cabin crew, Ms Eggen and Ms Scott will take on more leadership responsibilities, including mentoring new hires and ensuring high service standards on-board.
