Christopher Famous, a government MP and chairman of the Bermuda Housing Corporation, told the House of Assembly that the BHC was in mourning after the passing of an “elegant, classy” member of its staff, Pamela Trott.

Mr Famous said yesterday that “spirits were down” when he called on the corporation to pay his respects.

Ms Trott, 67, who sat in the western office at the BHC, was “the first one people met when they came to pay their rent”.

Mr Famous added: “She always had a pleasant demeanour, even when going through her trials — she came back and had a smile on her face that lit up the whole office.”

Ms Trott, a longstanding member of Bethel AME Church, worked at the BHC for the last four years and served as a cashier on the finance team.

He described her as a “pillar” of its operations.

Zane DeSilva, the Deputy Premier and Minister of Housing and Municipalities, also said Ms Trott had been valued member of the BHC team.

Mr DeSilva gave his condolences to her two daughters, adding: “All that I have heard about this lady was nothing but stellar.”
