Works to affect traffic in Pembroke and Hamilton Parish
Critical infrastructure and utility works will affect traffic in Pembroke and Hamilton Parish, the Ministry of Public Works and Environment announced.
The ministry said The Glebe Road in Pembroke will be closed from tomorrow until August 1 to facilitate repairs.
The closure extends just beyond the northern and southern limits of The Glebe Road Bridge, and traffic will be directed by Sunrise Construction Ltd.
Motorists were advised to use alternative routes via St Monica’s Road, Marsh Folly Road and Bishop Spencer Road.
From August 9 to August 11, a lane closure to support Belco trenching works will be in effect on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton Parish.
The ministry said traffic management will be handled by Intelligent Excavation, with signage, barricades, cones and traffic lights in place.
It said detour routes will be available via North Shore Road.
For two days from August 16, Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke Parish will be closed to facilitate the erection of a tower crane. The structure will be erected at No 69/71 Pitts Bay Road.
In the event of inclement weather, the closure will be rescheduled for August 23 for two days.
The ministry said limited local access will be maintained for offices, Miles Market and Waterloo Lane.
Detours will be available via Rosemont Avenue and Woodbourne Avenue.
The ministry encouraged the public to exercise caution, follow posted traffic controls and plan alternate routes where necessary.
