Trash collection delayed for Cup Match holiday

The upcoming Cup Match holiday will cause trash collection to be pushed back this week.

A government spokesman said that household waste normally collected on Thursday and Friday will instead be collected on Saturday as a result of the holiday.

Household waste, recycling and bulky items can also be taken to the Tynes Bay public drop-off site, which will be open between 9am and noon on Thursday and Friday.

The drop-off site will return to its regular hours of 7am to 7pm on Saturday and Sunday
